Visits and reading
We use PostHog to understand which pages people visit, which referring sites and campaigns bring readers here, how far people read, how much active time they spend on an article, and which links to other websites they follow. Analytics also includes browser, operating system, device type, and approximate location derived from the request.
PostHog uses an anonymous identifier stored in your browser's local storage for this domain. It sets no cookies. We do not create identifying profiles or combine that identifier with identifiers from our other publications. Clearing your browser's site data removes the identifier.
Session recordings are disabled. We do not collect form contents, email values, or the contents of your shortlist through analytics. See PostHog's privacy notice for how it processes data.
We also count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which works without cookies. It records the page viewed, the referring site, browser and operating system, device type, and approximate location derived from the request. See Vercel's privacy notice for how it processes data.
Your shortlist
Specialists you save are stored in your browser's local storage, on your device only. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data clears them. If you copy a shortlist link, the saved entries are encoded in that link so it can be opened elsewhere.
Hosting, fonts, and links
The site is hosted on Vercel, which handles requests the way any web host does in order to serve pages. Fonts are served from this site, not from a font service. Links to specialists' websites and to cited sources lead to third-party sites with their own privacy practices.
